Sherman's Voice

.: Bio - Curriculum Vitae

My natural speaking voice is a warm baritone, so I make a great public address announcer with that classic James Earl Jones faintly-British inflection if that's what you're looking for. But I am not just another generic baritone. I utilize a wide range in pitch, tone, timbre, rhythm, and mouth work to do a variety of voices, accents, and sounds

I have been speaking since I was about 9 months old. I do it every day.

I have done voicework for TV, radio, and internet ads: most recently including the Charleston (S.C.) Post and Courier, Powerteam International, and Dehn's Innovations.

My first foray into narration was voicing a local media campaign for the Lowcountry Marketplace" initiative of the Charleston (SC) Post & Courier in 2009. I also did VO for an in-house training program for MeadWestvaco, one of the largest paper producers in the Southeastern U.S. I also did copy editing, and video production for the video.

I have voiced two election ads for truthandhope.org. For the second spot, I also assisted in copy editing as well as audio post-production.

I hold a Bachelor's in Software Development and am an avid reader of scientific journals, so I have a working knowledge of academic, scientific, and technical subject matters.

I worked my way through college as a word processor for a law firm, so I am comfortable with legal, medical and pharmaceutical jargon.

I played trumpet, flute and trombone in my student days, and sang in a semi-pro chorus during my time in New York, so I bring a musician's ear to all my voiceover projects, from direction to recording to production.
